Katharina Arndt
(b.1981) is a Contemporary artist from Germany who lives and works in Berlin and Barcelona.
She studied Fine Arts at Braunschweig school of art and later on obtained her Master of Fine Arts by John Armleder. Her fast and colorful paintings ironize the contemporary mass consumerist aesthetic of a decadent, abundant society in picturing her everyday life in the digital age. Additionally, her work has been shown in several galleries and museums in worldwide. Some examples include the Tokyo Art Museum (Tokyo), the Saatchi Gallery (London), Museum Villa Rot (Burgrieden), Kunstverein (Hannover). In 2023, your painting ‘Julia in Nice’ was featured on the cover of the August issue of art magazine.
Art work.
On my way to my studio in Berlin, I pass Frankfurter Tor in Friedrichshain. There, on that noisy, crowded traffic island, was this young couple kissing. They were so happy and in love, a haven of peace amid the hustle and bustle of Berlin. It touched me deeply.
